Don't Let Writer Know - Celebrating 100 years of Malaysian Chinese Theatre needs your help to become reality!

The #dontlethimknow theatre series has always been self-funded by its passionate creative and production team. From Don’t Let Shakespeare Know (2016) to Don’t Let Children Know (2017), we have relied on the generous donations and support of various parties to produce high-quality theatre.

Thanks to the INXO Arts Fund’s contribution, we have been able to kickstart our newest 2018 project - “Don’t Let Writer Know”. But we need more help. Achieving our target goal in crowdfunding will cover 10% of production costs, which is a huge step forward for our team. We need your support on this journey in bringing the 7 short plays to life. Join us to celebrate 100 years of Malaysian Chinese Theatre with a twist in Chinese Literature and supporting the growth of Malaysian Theatre. 

From the same team that created the 7 short plays series: Don’t Let Shakespeare Know (2016) & Don’t Let Children Know (2017) comes another exciting installment slated for April 2018. MUKA Space & The Actors Studio Seni Teater Rakyat proudly present Don’t Let Writer Know which will feature a variety of short plays related to Chinese Literature in conjunction with celebration 100th anniversary of Malaysian Chinese Theatre. Expect the unexpected as seven directors each present their own take on a Chinese Literature but with a twist. Hence, the title Don’t Let Writer Know because there will be some risqué material too. The production aims to nurture, develop and celebrate Chinese Literature and Malaysian Theatre among young Malaysian audiences and artists.

Love.Invisible 《爱。无形》

Set in the 16th century on an ordinary morning, revolving around little things happening between Shakespeare and two other characters. A play inspired by one of Shakespeare’s paintings and his sonnet 20.

The Three Women He Killed 《他杀死的三个女人》

莎士比亚剧本中的女性向来都处在卑微的地位。演出以三部莎士比亚笔下的典型女性角色马克白夫人、奥菲利亚及贞德出发，从这些人物的死亡探讨现今荒谬的社会现象给人们判处不平等的死刑。

The play connects three female characters from Shakespeare’s plays: Lady Macbeth, Ophelia and Jeanne d’Arc. With their tragic death, the women are trying to arouse the discussion of the death penalties by the playwright.

is an adaptation of Macbeth which happens after Macbeth died. Macbeth asks for justice as he thinks that his death is caused by the 3 witches. He wants to put the blames on the 3 witches……

改编自《马克白》。当马克白的头被砍下来后深感不忿，决定为自己的死讨个公道（以便可以上天堂），与三位女巫来个正面的交锋，势必要说服判官全部的错都是因为三位女巫。可是三个女巫也是八婆。。。
